1st Fridays Finally Returns to Springfield August 1

“After having had to cancel the first two 1st Fridays this season due to rainy weather, we are so excited to officially kick off the 1st Fridays season,” said Madie McCormick, Tourism and MainStreet Coordinator for the City of Springfield.

Indeed, the City of Springfield is excited to announce the return of its 1st Friday event series to downtown Springfield on August 1 with a live performance by dance band The Band Entice. 1st Fridays takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of each month May through October.

“We are thankful for our monthly event sponsors, Historic Perk Coffee Shop, The Serenity Shop, and Viridian Real Estate Partners, for making the event possible. Events like 1st Fridays not only support local businesses but also help boost tourism and strengthen the local economy by showcasing the unique character of Springfield," shares Madie.

The community is invited to stroll through historic downtown Springfield and enjoy an evening of shopping, dining, and live music. This free, family-friendly event series includes food trucks, a kids' zone sponsored by Springfield Chick-fil-A, The Farmers Bank, and the Robertson County Family YMCA; a specialty vehicle cruise-in, and over 80 local vendors. The vendors will include farmers, artists, makers, bakers, crafters, boutiques, local businesses, and downtown merchants.

Live music will begin at 6:30 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and their best dancing shoes to enjoy the sounds of summer.
