The City of Springfield is excited to announce the return of its 1st Friday event series to downtown Springfield on June 6 with a live performance by dance band Four on the Floor. 1st Fridays will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of June, August, September, and October.

The community is invited to stroll through historic downtown Springfield and enjoy an evening of shopping, dining, and live music. This free, family-friendly event series includes food trucks, a kids' zone sponsored by Springfield Chick-fil-A, The Farmers Bank, and the Robertson County Family YMCA, a specialty vehicle cruise-in, and over 80 local vendors. The vendors will include farmers, artists, makers, bakers, crafters, boutiques, local businesses, and downtown merchants.

“We’re so excited to kick off our 1st Fridays season after having had to cancel May’s event due to rainy weather,” said Madie McCormick, Tourism and Main Street Coordinator for the City of Springfield. It’s a perfect evening of family fun, local vendors, and everything that makes our downtown so special. Events like this not only support our small businesses, but also help boost tourism and showcase the unique character of our area.”

Live music will begin at 6:30 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and their dancing shoes to enjoy the sounds of summer.
