Supporting local businesses is at the heart of a strong community, and Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation (CEMC) recently had the opportunity to celebrate one that truly stands out.
Jennifer Brown, Business Development Director at CEMC and its Cumberland Connect division, recently visited Colorado Grill to present the locally owned restaurant with a Business Awards certificate as part of CEMC’s Small Business Showcase Awards program. Through this initiative, community members nominate and vote on their favorite local businesses — shining a spotlight on those that make a meaningful difference where they serve.
Award recipients receive community recognition, promotion across Cumberland Connect’s social media channels, and a bill credit as a small but heartfelt thank-you for their positive impact.

During the visit, the CEMC team stayed for lunch — and the experience reinforced exactly why Colorado Grill earned the honor. From delicious food to exceptional service, the kindness and care shown by their server left a lasting impression.

“It truly exemplified why they won,” Brown shared.
Colorado Grill’s recognition is a reminder that when local businesses lead with heart, the community feels it — and shows up to support them in return.
