Empowering, Inspiring: Thrive Luncheon Honors Women Making Waves

The THRIVE Women’s Luncheon and Awards on Aug. 12 wasn’t just a gathering — it was a celebration of strength, leadership, and the unstoppable momentum of women making a difference in White House.

Hosted by the White House Area Chamber of Commerce, the event radiated energy and connection, uniting community members in honoring women who are creating positive ripples that reach far beyond their own circles.

This year’s luncheon held a special surprise for three remarkable women whose achievements and positive impact stood out. Each was honored not only for their professional accomplishments but also for their dedication to encouraging others and building a stronger, more connected community.

THRIVE Rising Star Award
Alexis Mabry of Isaiah 117 House received the Rising Star Award, recognizing her ability to inspire young leaders through her positivity and dedication to her cause. The 2024 Rising Star recipient, Deana Phillips of the White House Farmers Market, presented the award and described Alexis as a woman who “walks with purpose, serves with heart, and inspires others along the way.”

Already making significant strides in her mission, Alexis uses her achievements to light the way for others, proving that one person’s determination can ripple outward to inspire many. Her “unshakeable commitment to making life better for others” has not gone unnoticed in the White House community.

Reflecting on the honor, Alexis said she “feels very fortunate to be recognized among such an amazing pool of women doing incredible things!”

In a moment of shared celebration, Stay Positive News (SPN) was especially proud as two of its own were among the honorees:

THRIVE Trailblazer Award
Sarah Lee Ricciardi, Creative Director at SPN, received the Trailblazer Award for her steadfast dedication to advancing women in leadership. Becky Jenkins, Children’s Minister at Temple Baptist Church and an earlier Trailblazer recipient, noted that Sarah “embodies the spirit of a true supporter, and her ability to genuinely care about others on a deeply personal level” earned her this recognition.

Sarah’s mentorship, commitment to supporting local businesses, and hands-on community involvement have made her a respected leader who paves the way for others to succeed. As one presenter said, “She has the rare gift of making everyone in the room feel like the only person in the room” — a quality that sets her apart as an exceptional leader.

In her acceptance remarks, Sarah spoke about the strength of the local women’s network: “A community of women who truly cheer each other on —you don’t find that everywhere.”

THRIVE 2025 Woman of the Year Award
Krislyn Mercer, SPN ambassador and owner/ founder of Krislyn’s Kiddos & Furry Friends, was named the 2025 Woman of the Year for her civic engagement and strong advocacy for women and businesses in White House. Her passion for building an empowered, thriving community has made her a true pillar of leadership.

Described as having “unshakeable positivity,” Krislyn is known for showing up to every event ready to lift the community higher, amplify the good, and connect people. Presenters shared, “She shows us that leadership isn’t about a title — it’s about service, consistency, and heart.”

With tears in her eyes and a full heart, Krislyn thanked her fellow White House women for the award and gave special thanks to her friend Gracie Eden for encouraging her to join the White House Area Chamber of Commerce — a step that deepened her journey of helping the community grow.

As the luncheon came to a close, one thing was certain — these women are far from finished. Their influence, dedication, and vision will continue to shape and strengthen White House for years to come. Their stories prove that when women lead with heart and determination, they don’t just make waves — they create lasting tides of change.
