Sometimes, you come across an organization that makes you stop and think, How did I not know about this before?

That was Grace Place for me.

My husband and I were introduced to Grace Place through a family friend, and the more we learned about what they are doing right here in our community, the more impressed we became.

As a mom myself, my family is at the heart of who I am. So when I hear about a mother trying to create a safe, stable life for her children, that hits close to home.

Every mother wants to know her children are safe, have a place to sleep, and have a chance to grow into everything they're meant to be.

That's why Grace Place immediately caught my attention.

For more than 11 years, Grace Place has been walking alongside single mothers and their children experiencing homelessness, providing much more than a temporary place to stay. They provide a pathway forward through stable housing, education, support, and empowerment.

Now, that mission is growing through the new Grace Place Home Amplified Campus in Hendersonville.

A Home of Their Own

For years, Grace Place operated from a five-bedroom home on Walton Ferry Road, serving about five families at a time.

Amplified currently has 13 homes on the security-minded campus. That number will grow to 43 individual homes as donations allow, each home providing a place for one mother and her children. “It’s one bed per head,” Grace Place Founder & CEO, Desnèige Bourret, shared as she toured us through the new facility.

What really struck me is that these aren't simply houses. They are part of a program designed to help mothers build lives they can sustain. Trauma-informed support, emotional healing, Scripture studies, workforce and career training, financial guidance, and accountability are all part of the Grace Place program, lasting for 6 to 18 months, depending on the mom’s needs.

Desnèige shared, “We found a way to preserve the community and support that have always been part of its model while giving each family something incredibly meaningful — a home of their own.”

I think there is something powerful about having your own front door.

Seeing What Is Possible

One quote from a current Grace Place mom has stayed with me. On her first night in her new home, she texted Desnèige:

“I want this for myself, and now I know I can do it.”

As a mother, I can't help but think about what it must feel like to look around a new home with your children and realize, We can do this.

Grace Place isn't simply helping women get through a difficult season. They are helping them build a foundation for the future.

Desnèige shared that 90% of their graduates successfully maintain an independent life after completing the program.

That is what makes this work so meaningful to me.

Why I'm Now Part of It

After seeing what Grace Place is accomplishing, I knew I wanted to join other local businesses in being part of this next chapter.

Supporting Grace Place is really supporting the mothers who will walk through that front door. It's about giving families a safe place to breathe, regroup, and begin again.

As a business owner, I know how important it is to build something that lasts. As a mom, I know how much a safe and stable home means to a family.

Grace Place is doing both.

I am genuinely in awe of what they have accomplished over the past 11 years, and I am so excited to see what comes next.

More doors to open. More families to serve. More futures to build.
