At Simmons Bank, we believe in investing in what truly matters: our people, our values, and our community. That’s why I’m honored to spotlight a local nonprofit that continues to shine light in dark places—His Children Foundation, based in Cottontown, TN.
Founded by Jessica and Tyler Brown, His Children Foundation exists to ensure children in foster care are never forgotten. Their mission began with six simple duffel bags in July 2021. Just four years later, that mission has expanded to nearly 700 personalized bags, Christmas gifts for 570 children, countless filled needs, field trip support, and now, for the first time, they’re sending 3 kids to summer camp.
Each child who receives a bag gets more than supplies—they receive hope, dignity, and a message of unconditional love. Every bag includes a Bible, personal hygiene items, a toy or gift card, and is customized to the child’s interests and age.
Jessica recently shared one powerful story:
“We made a bag for two children who were not only in foster care but completely orphaned, just one city over. That pulled our heartstrings more than usual. We created personalized bags with their names and favorite things. Their foster mama told us their day was absolutely made—they even brought their bags to school to show them off! It’s stories like that that remind me how thankful I am for this community and how they continue to rally behind us.”
Now, His Children Foundation is asking for our help to continue this mission.
Donation Drop-Off Location:
Simmons Bank – White House Branch (117 Raymond Hirsch Pkwy, White House) The branch is open Monday–Friday 8:30 am - 4 pm. Visit their website.
Every donation, no matter how small, has a meaningful impact. These items go directly into the hands of children entering foster care, often with nothing more than the clothes they’re wearing.
Jessica and Tyler, parents of two little boys, were called into this work after hearing firsthand stories of the heartbreaking realities children face entering foster care. Their response has been a powerful, faith-driven movement that continues to grow thanks to the love and generosity of our community, especially here in White House.
Let’s continue to show up. Let’s continue to give generously. And let’s remind every child who receives a bag from His Children Foundation that they are deeply loved.
