TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is working with United Way of Sumner County to combat food insecurity this holiday season.
As part of the United We Feed initiative, colleagues at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center assembled more than 1,200 donated cans into a block structure spelling "We Care," in a process known as "canstruction."
"We hope this brightens the spirits of those walking into the hospital while raising awareness of food insecurity in Sumner County," says Megan McConnell, Director of Communications and Community Involvement at TriStar Hendersonville.
In addition to collecting thousands of canned goods, the hospital raised more than $600 for United Way of Sumner County.

The sculpture will be displayed in the hospital lobby for the rest of Thanksgiving week.
It offers a visual reminder of the hospital's commitment to fighting food insecurity, in addition to providing exceptional healthcare services.
Canned donations for the United We Feed food drive will be accepted at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center through December 1.
