Perimeter Pest: Serving People First, One Home at a Time

When Perimeter Pest arrived at an elderly homeowner’s house, they knew the termite damage was serious. What they did not expect was just how severe it had become.

Years of unseen damage had weakened the structure of her home so badly that her oven had fallen straight through the floor.

For many companies, the solution would have been simple: treat the termites and move on. But standing in her kitchen, faced with the reality of a home—and a sense of security—literally falling apart, the team made a different choice. They did not just eliminate the termites. Before they left that day, they made sure her oven was safely installed and working again.

It was not in the contract. It was not required. It was simply the right thing to do.

That moment captures the heart of Perimeter Pest, a company built on the belief that pest control is about more than bugs. It is about people.

Founded in 2023, Perimeter Pest was created after owner Michael Conrad recognized a growing need for a local, service-first approach to pest control. After more than 20 years of building successful pest control companies for others, he had a front-row seat to how the industry can lose sight of its purpose.

Instead of accepting business as usual, he and Managing Partner Tyler Qualls chose to take what worked, fix what was broken, and bring that value back to the community they call home.

“[We] wanted customers to feel heard, taken care of, and confident that they chose the right company. When we leave, I want people to feel protected, respected, and relieved knowing they have a long-term partner in their corner—not just a one-time service,” says Tyler.

At Perimeter Pest, real pest control starts with a conversation. Every home tells a different story, and long-term protection begins with listening. While the ongoing defense against pests happens around the perimeter of the house, trust and communication are what truly protect it.

That mindset stands out in an industry that often views customer turnover as inevitable. Success, in their eyes, is about loyalty and retention. Rather than burning through customers, Perimeter Pest focuses on building lifelong relationships with neighbors who know they are more than just another stop on a route.

Integrity, excellence, and going the extra mile guide every service call. The company works to modernize and simplify pest control while maintaining a hands-on, local approach. Innovation does not have to come at the expense of connection—it should make service clearer, better, and more accessible for homeowners.

According to Michael and Tyler, some of the best parts of the job come from meeting neighbors and their dogs and truly educating customers on their needs. Sometimes that education includes unforgettable facts, like learning that brown recluse spiders walk on their tiptoes—a detail no one really wants to know, but never forgets.

Perimeter Pest is on a mission to tune out pests across Music City by returning to the core of the business: serving people well, protecting homes with care, and showing up with integrity every single time.

“I hope Perimeter Pest raises the standard for what local pest control looks like in our community,” says Michael. “That means building long-term relationships, doing the right thing even when it takes more time, and reinvesting in the neighborhoods we live and work in. If we can modernize the industry while still showing up like good neighbors, then we’ve done our job. The goal isn’t just fewer bugs; it’s a stronger, more cared-for community.”
