Purpose in Every Gift: Vol State Giving Day Raises Nearly $80,000 for Students

Volunteer State Community College is proud to announce the success of its annual Vol State Giving Day, a 24-hour celebration of community generosity and student support. This year’s event brought together 249 donors and raised a remarkable $78,805 to benefit scholarships and student programs.

“Your generosity helps our students achieve their dream of an education and equips our programs to be innovative. We are deeply grateful to you for giving with purpose,” said Karen Mitchell, Vice President for Advancement and Executive Director of the College Foundation.

The success of the Vol State Giving Day united alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of the college in a shared mission to support student scholarships and academic programs through eight key partner campaigns. Each campaign focused on a specific area at Vol State, empowering donors to support the causes that matter most to them.

The Vol State College Foundation, a separate 501c3 non-profit of the college, makes a difference in the lives of students every day by awarding scholarships to those who might not otherwise be able to obtain a college education.
