Reel in the Fun – Youth Fishing Rodeo Registration Now Open in Springfield

The Springfield Parks and Recreation Department is excited to host its 28th annual Youth Fishing Rodeo in partnership with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) on Saturday, June 7, 2025. Online registration is available at springfieldtn.gov/fish.

Kids up to age 14 are invited to fish from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at J. Travis Price Park, 4155 Wilks Road. The TWRA will stock the pond with fish ahead of the event.

Admission is free. Participants must bring fishing gear and bait. No artificial lures will be allowed.

Registration is required and is available online or in person. In-person registration will be available the day of the event at 7:00 a.m. under the pavilion located next to the pond. After the event, prizes will be awarded. Last year’s event was the highest attended Youth Fishing Rodeo in Middle Tennessee, with nearly 500 people visiting the park.

“The Youth Fishing Rodeo has become a tradition we’re proud to continue,” said Springfield Parks and Recreation Director Terry Martin. “This great event brings families together, gets the kids outside, and inspires the next generation of anglers.”
