Small Town Startup will host its Second Annual Giving Day on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at BS Brew Works in Springfield. Following the success of the inaugural event in 2023—which raised over $30,000—this full-day fundraiser will benefit 12 local nonprofit organizations working toward individual fundraising goals while competing for additional cash prizes.

The event offers a unique platform for nonprofits to share their missions with the community. Each organization will be given a dedicated space to connect with attendees, educate the public about their work, and engage potential donors. Throughout the day, nonprofits will participate in hourly challenges and random drawings, with more than $2,000 in bonus prize money available.

“Giving Day creates an exciting, festival-like atmosphere where our local nonprofits can showcase their amazing work while raising crucial funds,” said Abigail Brown, Director of Education at Small Town Startup. “After seeing the tremendous community response in 2023, we’re thrilled to bring everyone together again with even more opportunities for these organizations to boost their fundraising efforts.”

Nonprofits will activate both new and existing donors during the nine-hour event to meet their fundraising goals. The addition of fun, competitive challenges provides organizations with multiple ways to earn support beyond direct donations.

The event is free and open to the public, with food available for purchase from the BS Brew Works kitchen starting at 3:00 p.m. Community members are encouraged to stop by throughout the day to learn about local nonprofits, make contributions, and enjoy the lively atmosphere.
