Springfield Tourism’s Madie McCormick Honored as DMO Manager of the Year

Springfield has another reason to celebrate. Madie McCormick, Springfield Tourism and Main Street Coordinator, has been named Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) Manager of the Year (Small Budget) by the Tennessee Hospitality & Tourism Association (TNHTA).

The award was presented Sept. 17 during the Stars of the Industry Awards at the Gatlinburg Convention Center, held as part of the 2026 Governor’s Conference on Hospitality & Tourism.

The DMO Manager of the Year (Small Budget) award recognizes a Tennessee tourism marketing organization with an annual budget under $500,000 that demonstrates outstanding service, professionalism, creativity, and a lasting impact on the state’s hospitality and tourism industry.

For Madie, the recognition is about more than an individual accomplishment. It also reflects the people and partnerships that help make Springfield a special place to visit.

“I am incredibly honored and humbled to receive this award,” said Madie McCormick. “I am proud to represent the City of Springfield and grateful to be part of a community that believes in the impact of tourism. This recognition reflects the hard work and support of our local businesses, community partners, and city leadership. I am excited to continue telling Springfield’s story and showcasing all that makes our community such a special place to visit.”

Celebrating Springfield’s Growing Tourism Impact

Tourism continues to play an important role in Tennessee’s economy. Visitor spending has grown 40% since 2018, nearly double the national growth rate of 22%. In 2025, visitors generated a record $32.5 billion in direct visitor spending across the state.

Springfield welcomed visitors from 29 states during the year, helping contribute to an estimated $239 in tax savings per household through state and local tax collections.

The City of Springfield has been a member of the Tennessee Hospitality & Tourism Association for the past three years, dating back to the inception of the city’s tourism department.

Through her work with Springfield Tourism and Main Street, Madie helps showcase the people, places, events, and local businesses that make the community worth discovering.
