There’s something special about breaking away from your house and gathering around a table that isn’t your own. Sure, the no dishes part is enough to make me do a happy dance. But it’s the undiluted talk time that really feels priceless—especially when there’s an unspoken (or very spoken) rule that any cell phone spotted on the table might just “accidentally” slide right off.
That’s exactly the kind of experience we’ve found at White House Pizza & Pub, a local favorite that feels as much about connection as it does about comfort food.

One of the biggest wins for families? Individual pizzas. Picky eaters, food sensitivities, and “I don’t like that topping touching mine” folks can all stay happy—no negotiations required. Add in perks like free Prince Stix with a Blue Devil card and easy-to-use check-in rewards, and suddenly dinner out feels like a smart move, not a splurge. (Pro tip: the deals stack. We often enjoy $5 off our order, and at Christmastime, we jumped on their $50 gift card + free 18” pizza deal.)

Their text alerts are another unexpected bonus—sprinkling your week with funny memes that will, at the very least, make you smile, and at best, save you some hard-earned money on your next mouth-watering meal.
Step inside and you’ll notice the unique décor right away. It’s dimly lit and nostalgic, reminding me of a mix between 1980s Pizza Hut and Cheers (where everybody knows your name, or at least greets you as if they do). Yes, it can be noisy—but that’s because we aren’t the only ones who love the place. Our favorite time to eat in-house is during the warmer months, when you can snag a spot outside under the twinkle lights. It’s pure small-town magic.

Let’s talk value. The $10 pizza-and-drink combo is hard to beat—especially when you consider that you can’t even drive through a grease trap these days without spending that much (or more).

Another thing we genuinely love? The people. High school kids greet you, take your order, answer phones, and hustle nonstop. Okay…maybe some of them are in college—the older I get, the younger everyone else seems. But watching kids we’ve cheered for on the field now serving the community with professionalism and patience is something special. It should make all of us feel thankful.

Founded in 2017, White House Pizza & Pub has become a go-to gathering spot by doing the basics right—and adding heart. Their dough is made fresh daily, ingredients are sourced locally whenever possible, and pizzas are baked to order until they’re crispy on the outside and perfectly gooey in the middle. From salads and wings to refreshing cold drinks, it’s a place designed for lingering conversations and shared laughter.
As they continue partnering with communities like White House, Portland, and Hendersonville, one thing is clear: this is more than a pizza place. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the best way to reconnect is to sit down, share a meal, and stay awhile.
