As the start of the school year draws near, one White House businessman is stepping up to ensure local students have the supplies they need.
“Sumner County students are no longer getting their school supplies paid for, but that’s okay—we’re here to help!” said Bobby Robinson.
Bobby, of The Robinson Group, a longtime community member and father of two, has launched a raffle fundraiser to support local families in need.
By partnering with small businesses across White House, Bobby is collecting donations—like gift cards and service vouchers—to be raffled off.
For a $20 donation, individuals are entered into the raffle, with all proceeds going directly toward purchasing school supplies.
So far, several local businesses have contributed raffle prizes, including:
“If we’re able to raise $1,000, we can supply at least 40 students with the school supplies they need this year,” Bobby said.
He’s even promised a special surprise on his Facebook Live if proceeds reach $2,000!
Transparency is important to Bobby. He’s been posting regular updates on social media and is working directly with the principal at White House Middle School to identify families who could benefit most.
This effort comes at a crucial time. School supply lists have grown longer in recent years, with parents expected to provide not only basics like paper and folders, but also items like disinfecting wipes, dry-erase markers, headphones, and more.
“Helping these kids and families get a strong start to the school year with all of the supplies they need is what this is about,” Bobby said.
Let’s teach our kids a powerful, positive lesson as school kicks off: obstacles aren't roadblocks, but opportunities.
