For Dr. Brad Leath, women’s health isn’t just his job — it’s a calling rooted in compassion, faith, and family. As a Sumner County native and obstetrics and gynecology physician at Highpoint Women’s Health - Gallatin with Ascension Saint Thomas, Dr. Leath brings a deeply personal approach to caring for women and families through every stage of pregnancy and beyond.
The timing couldn’t be more exciting. On the eve of the ribbon cutting for the brand-new women’s health clinic, Dr. Leath reflected on what makes his work so meaningful — and what this new chapter means for local women’s healthcare.
“For me, whole-person care means individualizing care to meet the needs of the person, not just their presenting issue,” he explained. “It’s about getting to know what their daily struggles might be and helping improve their overall life, not just one problem.”
That heart for connection started close to home. While in medical school, Dr. Leath’s path zeroed in on obstetrics after watching his wife, Jessie, experience the joys and challenges of pregnancy with their son, Easton.
“Seeing the relationship she had with her OB provider really opened my eyes,” he said. “It’s terrifying being first-time parents — there are so many unknowns. But watching her doctor guide us through it made a lasting impression. Once I rotated in that specialty, I knew this was where I was meant to be. There’s nothing more exciting than being the first to help bring a new life into the world.”
Dr. Leath’s compassion extends well beyond moments of celebration. He acknowledges that not every pregnancy story is easy — and that empathy plays a vital role in those difficult seasons.

“There’s no good way to give bad news,” he shared softly, emotion choking his words. “But my goal is always to provide hope and love, even when a situation feels hopeless. Whether a patient has a strong support system or not, we want them to know they’re not alone. We’re here to help them through whatever they’re facing.”
That same warmth is reflected in the design and mission of Highpoint Women’s Health.
“We wanted an office that feels inviting — not cold or clinical,” said Dr. Leath. “Obstetrics and gynecology can involve vulnerable moments, so we want our patients to feel comfortable, confident, and cared for.”
The center’s etched glass doors, soft tones, and beautiful artwork, combined with a diffuser punctuating the air fulfill that mission. The relaxing atmosphere and spa-like feel serve future plans well, too. Beyond pregnancy care, the center plans to expand into wellness services like weight management and aesthetic treatments, emphasizing whole-person confidence and health.
Ultimately, Dr. Leath’s guiding philosophy is simple but powerful:
“We want to do what’s right for our patients with a servant’s heart,” he said. “We may be the only bright spot in someone’s day, and we take that seriously. We want every person who walks through our doors to feel seen, loved, and hopeful.”
With leaders like Dr. Brad Leath at the helm, the future of women’s healthcare in Gallatin is looking brighter than ever.
