The Robertson County Sports Alliance (RCSA) is turning up the heat on community engagement with two powerful initiatives: the much-anticipated King of the Craw crawfish-boil & fish-fry festival returning Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Robertson County Fairgrounds, and the launch of Generations Next Academy, an affordable, nonprofit child-care center designed to serve working families across Middle Tennessee.
Now in its 2nd year, King of the Craw has become the county’s signature spring celebration, blending Louisiana flair with local heart. Highlights include:
All-You-Can-Eat Crawfish & Fried Fish, starting at 4:00 p.m.
Live Music Line-Up:
Buzzy Poole Band* (4:00 p.m.)
Roux du Bayou* (5:30 p.m.)
Half Brass* second-line parade (6:45 p.m.)
Celebrity Host & Judge: viral Cajun chef “StaleKracker,” cooking jambalaya on-site and sharing his signature “Put dat on a cracker!” catchphrase.
"Panel & People’s-Choice Competitions" crowning the official "King of the Craw" and the fan-voted winner.
"Cajun Kiddie Corral" fun zone, silent auction supporting Robertson County Prevention Coalition, vendor market, and more.
“King of the Craw is bigger and spicier every year, but its true purpose is raising funds that circle straight back to kids and families,” said Randall Pierre Alexander, President of RCSA and Generations Next. “This year, every ticket helps us open the doors of Generations Next Academy.”
Opening later this year, Generations Next Academy will provide quality, low-cost child care for infants through pre-K, easing the burden on working parents and strengthening early childhood development in Robertson County. The new center features:
* Sliding-scale tuition and scholarship options
* Certified teachers and evidence-based curriculum
* Flexible hours matched to shift-work schedules
* A vision to grow into a regional network of nonprofit day-care sites
“Parents shouldn’t have to choose between safe care and a paycheck,” said Tiffany Thomson, Robertson County Safe Baby Court Director and Generations Next Academy co-chair. “Our community rallied around youth sports; now we’re rallying around early learning.”
