Connection is strongest when time is given space to breathe. That’s the feeling you get when you walk into The Fellowship Coffee House—time pauses, thoughts clarify, and conversation rises to the surface.
This treasured spot is the realization of Lindsay and Anthony London’s long-held dream—one they imagined for “later, someday.” But when the couple moved to Tennessee from California in 2020 with their teenage daughter, Valentina, that dream snapped into focus. While staying at The Maxwell Hotel in Nashville, Lindsay recalls praying about their transition and asking God for direction. It was there, in the hotel owned by the “Good to the last drop” founder, that clarity came. “Looking out from the glass elevator, it dawned on us—we could start our coffee shop now,” she says.
“The name was actually very last-minute,” Lindsay recalls. “I was driving down Tyree Springs, and it hit me—this will be a place of fellowship.” Pair that idea with Anthony’s deep love of The Lord of the Rings, and The Fellowship Coffee House was born.
Planning turned into pouring, and The Fellowship Coffee House opened its doors last June. The White House community packed the dark, cozy café to the brim—sipping java, munching treats, popping confetti cannons, and snapping pictures against the rich black walls, brass fixtures, and wooden accents.
For the family behind it all, the biggest surprise has been how smoothly things have gone. “From the beginning, we were told—and we expected—that we’d be slaves to the café for at least the first few years,” says Lindsay.
The past twelve months have shown her something different: not everything has to be a struggle. “God has made the challenges manageable,” she reflects. “Even from the beginning, you need rest. We've been able to take time off and grow a phenomenal team.”
In celebration of their anniversary, TFC shared their mission statement:
“We are called to foster a space where hearts can unite to sit, sip, and fellowship. We exist to be a sanctuary of radical hospitality where hearts are poured out and filled, brewing meaningful connections grounded in faith and service. We strive to overflow with warmth and belonging, transforming our community one cup—and one connection—at a time.”
“We live by that every day,” says Lindsay, “behind the barn door and out in the café.”
And the community’s response confirms it. The Fellowship Coffee House is more than a place to grab a great cup of coffee—it’s a place to come together. It’s a space to connect, to slow down, to cut through the noise—and simply be.
