Robertson County First Responders Invite Community to Battle of the Badges Blood Drive

As the nation marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Robertson County first responders and Blood Assurance are inviting the community to come together for the Robertson County Battle of the Badges Blood Drive on Friday, September 11, 2026.

The event will bring firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel and community members together in the spirit of service that united the nation in the aftermath of September 11.

The blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the National Guard Armory, 5255 TN-76.

Donors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite badge while supporting Blood Assurance and helping save lives in the community. Donors will also receive a special 9/11 commemorative T-shirt while supplies last.

The department receiving the most votes will earn bragging rights and a trophy—but organizers say the real victory is knowing the community came together to help others.

“People helping people...in this community it's what we're all about,” said Robertson County Mayor Buzzy Poole.

Chief of Police Jason Head echoed the importance of the event.

“Your donation is more than a vote for a badge. It's helping Blood Assurance save lives in our community,” Head said.

Fire Chief Jeff Glodoski encouraged residents to use the anniversary as an opportunity to carry that spirit of unity forward.

“This September 11th, Robertson County first responders and Blood Assurance invite you to carry the spirit forward into Battle of the Badges,” Glodoski said.

The Robertson County Battle of the Badges Blood Drive offers a meaningful way for the community to remember and honor those who serve and make a difference for neighbors who may need a lifesaving blood donation.
