A favorite Springfield tradition is returning this fall with a new host and the same community spirit.

The City of Springfield will present the 16th annual Art in the Park on Saturday, September 26, at J. Travis Price Park. The free, one-day arts and music festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 4155 Wilks Road.

Previously hosted by Willow Oak Center for Arts and Learning, Art in the Park has now been adopted by the Springfield Parks and Recreation Department and will be proudly presented by the City of Springfield.

The event continues its tradition of bringing the community together while celebrating local and regional artists through art, music, and outdoor recreation.

Visitors can explore more than 70 artisan booths along the greenway path, featuring a wide variety of handmade creations, including watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings, pottery, crochet, quilting, woodworking, jewelry, macramé, stained glass and more.

There will also be local food and beverage vendors, live art demonstrations, and vibrant, immersive art installations to explore throughout the day.

"I'm excited to still be a part of Art in the Park!” said Recreation Programmer Martha Haley. “Spend a Saturday surrounded by art, music, and the outdoors while supporting talented local and regional artists, and shopping for handmade art.”

And for anyone who loves discovering unique handmade treasures, Art in the Park offers plenty of opportunities to shop directly from the artists who create them.

The City of Springfield is currently accepting applications from artisans and food vendors who would like to participate in this year's festival. Applications will be accepted through August 21, 2026, and are available online at the City of Springfield's website.

So mark your calendar, grab the family, and plan to spend a Saturday enjoying some of the creativity Springfield and the surrounding region have to offer.
