Tropical Smoothie Middle Tennessee Classic Delivers Big Wins, Big Moments in Springfield

The Tropical Smoothie Middle Tennessee Classic Basketball Tournament wrapped up an exciting weekend of competition as teams from Tennessee, Georgia, and North Carolina gathered at South Haven Christian School in Springfield.

Hosted in the Randy Davis Memorial Gymnasium, the tournament featured both boys and girls brackets and showcased elite-level play, competitive spirit, and standout individual performances throughout the event.

Sponsored by Tropical Smoothie Café, the Middle Tennessee Classic continues to grow as a premier in-season tournament, drawing quality programs and strong community support from across the region.

Girls Bracket Recap

Championship Game
The Girls' Championship Game featured Franklin Road Christian School taking on Victory Baptist School of Loganville, Georgia. Franklin Road Christian set the tone early, combining strong defensive pressure with efficient offense to secure a commanding 66–31 victory and claim the tournament championship.

Leading the way was #5 Lakelyn Dempsey, whose consistent play, leadership, and impact on both ends of the court earned her Girls' Tournament MVP honors.

Third-Place Game
The Girls' Third-Place Game delivered a tightly contested matchup between South Haven Christian School and Woodland Baptist School of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. South Haven Christian pulled away late to earn a 44–39 win, securing third place in the girls' bracket.

Boys Bracket Recap

Championship Game
The Boys Championship Game featured an intense showdown between two Franklin Road Christian School squads, producing one of the most exciting finishes of the tournament. Franklin Road Christian emerged victorious with a thrilling 59–56 win to capture the Boys' Tournament Championship.

Standout guard #2 Mason Alcorn delivered clutch performances throughout the tournament, showcasing scoring ability, court vision, and leadership. His efforts earned him Boys' Tournament MVP honors.

Third-Place Game
In the Boys' Third-Place Game, Temple Academy of Powell, Tennessee, faced Victory Baptist School of Loganville, Georgia. Temple Academy controlled the pace and relied on strong team defense to secure a 52–39 victory, finishing third in the boys bracket.
